Rethinking Islands
Dr Ana Šverko is a member of the organising and mentoring team for the international student workshop titled "Rethinking Islands: Architectural and Urban Identity of the Street", which takes place in the town of Korčula from 16 to 20 June 2025. The workshop forms part of the Split Summer School programme run by the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy in Split, with the support of Lada Vlainić, Director of the Korčula Town Museum.
It is preceded by a week of online lectures in which professors introduced students to the phenomenon of the street, the spatial context of Korčula, and the workshop methodology.
Alongside Ana Šverko, the mentoring team includes professors from Croatia, Slovenia, and Spain: Suzana Domjan, Tadej Glažar, Ana Grgić, Ljudmila Koprivec, Ramon Llull, Leandro Madrazo Agudin, Angel Martín Cojo, and Samantha Pavić, as well as Sani Sardelić, curator of the Korčula Town Museum.

Participation of Dr Ana Šverko in this program is the result of the scientific project “Art and Architecture of Urban Settings in Croatia” (Dr Matko Marušić, PI), which is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
