Historical Materialism
Sanja Horvatinčić and Vesna Vuković participated in the 22nd Annual International Historical Materialism Conference, that took place at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London from 6 to 9 November 2025.
Vesna Vuković presented the paper entitled “Unfinished Work: Reframing Women's/Feminist Art in Late Socialism through the Lens of Art as Labour“ while Sanja Horvatinčić, together with co-author Lujo Parežanin, participated with the paper “Letter, Paper, House: From Partisan Art to the Material Culture of the NOB“ and was one of the panelists at the book launch of Redefining Monuments. Materialist Memory Theories and Radical Heritage Practices (Palgrave, 2025). Conference programme here.
The participation of Sanja Horvatinčić and Vesna Vuković at the conference is part of the research project of the Institute of Art History in Zagreb Digital network, spatial and (con)textual analysis of artistic phenomena and heritage of the 20th century (DIGitART, 2023–2027) funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
