Biography

Filip Kartelo (Zagreb, 1997) has been employed at the Institute of Art History since 2025 as an professional associate in science and higher education – for documentation and information systems.

He graduated from the archival studies program at the Department of Information and Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, with the thesis “Automatic Identification and Classification of Photographs of Culturally Significant Objects Using Artificial Intelligence” (supervisor: Hrvoje Stančić, PhD, Full Professor).

During his studies, he participated in numerous Institute programs and projects, notably including field support in the development program for restoration of the historic urban core of the City of Zagreb (2021), participation in project “The Cycle – European training in photographic legacy management” (Creative Europe, 2022), active participation in the development and implementation of the digitization plan within the e-Kultura project (coordinator: Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, 2022), and ongoing field collaboration in the program of deployment the digital infrastructure and public administration services by developing a conservation basis system (coordinator: Ministry of Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, NPOO, 2024/2025).
